Quang Nam welcomes nearly 3 million tourists

The central province of Quang Nam handled over 2.8 million tourists in 2012, a year-on-year increase of 10.4%, according to the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The figure includes over 1.3 million foreign arrivals, up 7.5% against last year and met the present target.

 

The locality's tourism sector gained VND 1.4 trillion in revenue, 29.7% year-on-year increase and fulfilling 129.5% of the whole-year target.

 

Quang Nam is famous for the two world cultural heritages, namely Hoi An ancient town, a busy trading port in 16th-19th centuries and My Son Sanctuary, the central prayer and worship ceremony place of Cham Pa reigns.

 

So far this year, Quang Nam welcomed over 10 delegations from Laos, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, Russia and other to investigate the possibility of opening tours to the province.
