Accordingly, there will be one round-trip flights daily between the two cities, using Airbus A320 aircraft with capacity of 180 passengers.

Speaking at the welcoming ceremony held at the Cat Bi Airport, Minister of Transport, Mr Dinh La Thang, congratulated the airlines for great efforts in the past to demonstrate its trademark in both domestic and international markets. In the future, the Ministry will create more favourable conditions for VietJet Air's operations.

Also from October this year, the airlines hopes to expand its network along the nation to Da Lat, Hue, Vinh and Phu Quoc, as well as to increase flights on its Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang and Hanoi - Da Nang routes, meeting the increasing demand of passengers.

The newly-opened air route will contribute to promoting the 2013 Red River National Tourism Year that will be hosted by Hai Phong City under the theme "The Red River civilization".
