Update: Mar 02, 2010
Vietnam’s first-ever international fair of fine art and handicraft items, furniture and gifts will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from April 22 to 26.

The fair, “LifeStyle Vietnam”, is being jointly held by the Vietnam Handicraft Exporters Association (Vietcraft) and the Department of Trade Promotion under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

According to the organisers, the fair will draw the participation of Vietnamese businesses as well as those from European countries, the US, Japan, Canada and the Republic of Korea. They will showcase their products in more than 700 booths on a total area of nearly 10,000m².

The fair is held to create opportunities for Vietnamese exporters to find partners, said Vietcraft Chairman Do Nhu Dinh.

Vietnam is one of the largest exporters of fine art and handicraft items in Asia with an annual average export growth of 13% in recent years.

Vietnamese fine art and handicraft products are being exported to 163 countries and territories in the world. The main importers are the US, Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Taiwan.
