Tuyen Quang – Ha Giang Expressway to cost about 6.8 trillion VND

The northern province of Tuyen Quang has decided to implement the first phase of the Tuyen Quang – Ha Giang Expressway project, the section running through Tuyen Quang Province, with a total investment of 6.8 trillion VND (287.76 million USD).

The project aims to meet the increasing travel and transportation demands and solve the bottlenecks in inter-regional traffic in Tuyen Quang Province and Ha Giang Province, creating a driving force for socio-economic development and ensuring national defence and security in the province and in the region.

The section will have a total length of 77km, starting from the intersection of Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway and National Highway 2D in Nhu Khe Commune, Yen Son District, Tuyen Quang Province, and the ending at Km77 + 00 on the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway in Ha Giang Province.

The total investment includes over 4.49 trillion VND from the State budget and over 2.3 trillion VND from the local budget. The project will be implemented from 2022 to 2025.

The project will connect the provinces of Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang with the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway, meeting the increasing demand for travel and transportation.

The project is expected to promote socio-economic development and ensure border defence and security as well as boost comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China in line with the road network plan for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050.
