Vietnam International Travel Mart 2022 takes place from 31st Mar - 3rd Apr in Ha Noi

(TITC) - On 18th March 2022, in Ha Noi, Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA) in collaboration with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and Tourism Development Fund (TDF) held a press conference to inform about the Vietnam International Travel Mart 2022 (VITM) in Ha Noi.

The conference was presided by Mr. Pham Van Thuy - VNAT’s Vice Chairman, Mr. Vu The Binh - VITA’s Permanent Vice Chairman and Mr. Le Tuan Anh - TDF’s Chairman.

According to Mr. Vu The Binh, VITM 2022 in Ha Noi is under the theme: “New Normal - New Opportunity for Vietnam Tourism”. This is the continuation of the series of activities such as the National Travel Forum (21st Jan 2021), National Domestic Tourism Forum (15th Apr 2021), the “Sustainable recovery of Vietnam tourism” Forum (30th Nov 2021), which have been held previously.

This year, the VITM in Ha Noi takes place in 4 days, from 31st March 2022 to 3rd April 2022 at Friendship Labour Cultural Palace, 91 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hoan Kiem District, Ha Noi. The event is expected to have the participation of businesses, tourism management and promotion agencies from 52 provinces and cities nationwide and from 6 countries and territories with about 320 booths.

It is also expected that tourism and aviation businesses will launch more than 10,000 stimulus tours at the Mart; 100,000 cheap flight tickets and more than 1,000 gifts.

During the event, there are a number of activities: Business to Business (B2B), Business to Customer (B2C); Activities of promotion centres and businesses at booths; Tourism promotion activities; Vietnam Tourism Association Congress term 2022 - 2027; Workshop on Tourism human resources in the recovery period of Vietnam tourism; Workshop on Developing golf tourism, the strength of Vietnam tourism; Online travel app contest; Vietnam tourism introduction show, etc. 

The highlight of the Mart will be the Forum “The recovery of Vietnam tourism – New direction, New action”. This is an opportunity for state management agencies in charge of tourism and business to exchange, share experiences and initiatives in restoring and developing tourism in the new normal. It is expected that about 3,000 businesses will follow the Forum live and online (via livestream).

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Pham Van Thuy, VNAT’s Vice Chairman stated, from the end of 2021, Vietnam tourism has piloted welcoming international tourists with “vaccine passports”. On 15th March 2022, Vietnam officially resumed fully tourism activities. This is a milestone marking the readiness of Vietnam tourism in welcoming international tourists after the stagnation period due to the pandemic.

Mr. Thuy emphasised that this year, VNAT and TDF in the accompanying VITA organise the VITM 2022 in Ha Noi. Moreover, VNAT hopes that through this event, tourism events in the upcoming time will take place regularly in the most exciting, bustling atmosphere and receiving great attentions from a large number of tourists, citizens, international friends, tourism experts, businesses and medias for the successful Mart, marking the strong recovery of Vietnam tourism in the future.

Mr. Le Tuan Anh, TDF’s Chairman stated that it is an honour to accompany the Mart and TDF will focus on 3 groups of activities in this year’s Mart, namely the “Vietnam tourism recovery - New direction, New action”, promoting Vietnam tourism image and communication activities for Vietnam tourism events.

At the conference, a number of contents were also put into discussion such as: art performances at the Mart, new tourism products, market orientation to attract visitors, incentives for visitors to the Mart, etc.

Tourism Information Technology Center
