Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2018 opens in HCM City
Update: Feb 16, 2018
Ho Chi Minh City authorities opened its Lunar New Year (Tet) 2018 Flower Street on Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street on the evening of February 13.

Former and current State leaders joined local authorities in cutting the ribbon, declaring the official opening of the much-awaited annual event in serving locals and tourists during Tet holiday.

With the theme "Aspiration to rise," the flower street portrays a modern developed city during a period of international integration but still retains its cultural identity during the nation’s traditional New Year.

The floral street stretches over 720m, decorated with manifold flower scenes decorated under three main segments of Spring; Integration, Development and Heading to the Future.

This year’s event features a greeting gate emblazoned with the 2018 Lunar New Year’s mascot – the dog. The highlight at the street is a giant 2m dog, decorated with flowers and featuring the Phu Quoc Island’s ridgeback dogs famous for their agility and intelligence.

Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2018 will last until the fourth day of the Lunar New Year (February 19). This is the 15th event hosted by the southern economic hub to help local citizens and visitors enjoy Tet.
