Vietnamese films travel abroad

A series of Vietnamese movies have set off for international film festivals with hope to be enjoyed by overseas Vietnamese
Director Vinh Son’s “Trang Noi Day Gieng” (Moon in the Bottom of the Well) was invited to be screened at the Busan International Film Festival in the Republic of Korea from August 2-10, 2008. The film was co-produced by the Giai Phong and Alliance Film Studios with the support from France’s Fonds Sud and Fond Francophonie.

Director Nguyen Thanh Van’s “Trai Tim Be Bong” (The Little Heart) and actress Hong Anh, who starred as a main character in the film, have been present at the Bangkok International Film Festival, which will be running through September 30, 2008.

Other films, including “Ao lua Ha Dong” (The White Silk Dress) directed by Luu Huynh, “Love man Love woman” by Nguyen Trinh Thi and “San Thuong” (The Terrace) by Nguyen Ha Phong, are attending a cultural festival in Italy between September 19 and November 8, 2008.

A 14-member Vietnamese art troupe will also perform at the festival.
