Viet Nam promotes tourism in Singapore

(TITC) - From October 21 - 23, 2015, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) participated in ITB Asia 2015 in Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre (Singapore).

ITB Asia, which has been held for the first time since 2008 by Messe Berlin (Singapore) Pte Ltd., is the largest international tourism trade show in Asia. This is an opportunity for leading tourism enterprises, partners to meet and exchange experience; and also for visitors to learn about and choose destinations.

ITB Asia 2014 brought together 825 units from 72 countries and territories in the world with a total exhibition area of 12,000m2, 800 buyers and more than 9,000 trade visitors. ITB Asia 2015 attracted the participation of hundreds of tourism enterprises, media agencies from 80 countries and territories around the world. More than 21,000 meetings with potential buyers and discussions on development cooperation in MICE tourism, sustainable tourism and tourism technology were generated within the framework of the trade show.

Attending ITB Asia 2015, VNAT in collaboration with Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak Province, Viet Nam Airlines and Vietnamese leading tourism enterprises built a common booth in an area of 36m2 to promote Viet Nam tourism, introduce attractive destinations including Ha Giang Province, Trang An Landscape Complex (Ninh Binh Province), Son Doong Cave (Quang Binh Province), Da Nang, Phu Quoc Island (Kien Giang Province)…

In recent years, VNAT and localities nationwide as well as tourism enterprises have focused on boosting promotional activities in international markets including Singapore. In 2014, Viet Nam welcomed 7.87 million international visitor arrivals, up 4% over 2013; of which Singaporean visitors reached 202,436 arrivals, an increase of 3.4% compared with 2013.
